Where can I find the File ID on Google Drive

The Google Drive File ID is a unique identifier assigned to each file on Google Drive. It is a stable identifier that remains the same even if the file name or location changes.

The File ID can be found in the URL of the file when it is opened on Google Drive. It is the combination of letters and numbers that appear after "d/" in the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/***ThisIsFileID***/edit#gid=123456789

Alternatively, you can right-click on a file in Google Drive and select "Get link", then the "Copy link" button and the file ID will be in the copied URL.

For example, in the URL below the File ID is "1vKx1iPAplNzydYZbFEAxLknpR8S6UzjC91sAXTrpVVw":

Remember: the File ID is different than the Sheet ID. Learn from this article where to find the Sheet ID of the Google Spreadsheet file.
