Tab: Workspaces

A workspace enables you to create real-time project intelligence. The Workspaces tab/ home screen lists all the available workspaces.

Search through workspaces

Sort By

The Sort By  option lets you organized the workspaces created according to:

  • Name

This refers to the name of the workspace that has been created. The workspaces are sorted in A-Z order or vice-versa (by clicking on ↑↓).

  • Activity

This refers to the time a workspace was run recently. The workspaces are sorted in the last recent activity - older activities order or vice-versa (by clicking on ↑↓).

  • Duration

This refers to the duration of a workspace. The workspaces are sorted in the longest duration-shortest duration order or vice versa (by clicking on ↑↓).

  • Author

This refers to the author of a workspace. The workspaces are sorted A-Z order or vice-versa (by clicking on ↑↓).

Selected Tags

Tags can be assigned to workspaces to help keep them organised. By selecting tag you will display only respective workspaces. Tags can be managed by Meiro Integration administrator in the Administrator tab (Tags tab).

Create Workspace

The Create Workspace option lets you create an actual workspace, a place where you get to make use of the different components to create a data flow. You can find more information about creating your workspace in this article.

  • Name

The name refers to the name of the workspace that you have created.

  • Status

Status shows how successful configuration was run and the time taken for the process. To learn more about different statuses refer to this article.

  • Data Processed

Data Processed refers to the size of input data that has been used and the size of output data that has been created.

  • Last Activity

Last Activity shows when a workspace was last run.

  • Author

Author refers to the person that created this workspace. 

  • Set Schedules (in UTC)

Set Schedules shows all schedules set for this workspace. Schedules can be edited in the Workspace Detail tab. 

  • Tags

Tags show which tags have been assigned to the workspace.

Configuration Activity

The Configuration Activity allows you to see the activities of all the recently run configurations. To learn more about different statuses, you may refer to this article.

By clicking on a particular activity, it will bring you to the components page while by clicking on View All you will see the list of all configurations that have been run (their name, status, a timestamp of the last modification, data In, data Out, User).

Activity Overview

By clicking on an Activity Overview button you will access the summary of activities for available workspaces for the last 48 hours.

It is possible to display particular activities by:

  • changing Time Span,

  • choosing particular point on the Activity Overview line.

Clicking on a component name/icon will lead you to the component page while clicking its status will lead you to Activity Detail of this particular component.

Workspace Detail

By clicking on a particular workspace, you will be able to see its content.

  • Saved (...)

This shows when the latest activity on this workspace was last saved. 

 

  • Version History

By clicking on the Version History, you will be able to view the history of the workspace along with listed modifications (i.e. user, date and time, what has been changed) to the workspace.

  • Delete

Clicking on the Delete button will delete the entire workspace. Deleted workspaces can be subsequently found in the Trash tab. 

 

  • Erase Data

Clicking on the Erase Data button will erase data from the workspace. 

 

  • Clone

By clicking on the Clone button, you will be able to copy your workspace.

A pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm or cancel. Your cloned workspace will appear in the list of workspaces. Cloned workspaces will have the word ‘copy’ appended to the name of the original workspace that they were cloned from.

  • Enable/Disable

Toggle the Enable/Disable button to allow or stop your workplace from running. This feature could be useful for schedule workspaces that should be disabled for some time.

  • Name your workspace

Choose a name for your workspace. You can edit this name at any time. 

  • Tags

Choose the tag corresponding to your workspace. Tags help with organizing your workspaces and can be added by an admin in the Administration tab.

  • Users

This will show you a list of users who have access to the workspace. You can invite more users by clicking on the Invite button.

  • Run

Clicking the Run button will enable you to run the entire workspace. 

  • Delete data after execution

By checking this box, data will be deleted after the workspace execution.

  • Find configuration

The search box lets you search for a configuration that has already been created by inputting the name of the configuration (or the first letter of the workspace name, as character matching is supported).

 

  • Create configuration 

By clicking on the Create configuration button, you can add components to the data flow. The different components that can be used are connectors, processors and loaders:

- A connector lets you connect to the data source that you intend to use. 

- A processor processes the data that has been taken as the input from the previous component (which is usually the connector) as per your needs. 

- A loader lets you load the processed data that it receives as the input from the previous component (which is usually the processor) on to the preferred destination.

  • Data flow 

Data flow refers to the area in your workspace that contains the workspace’s components. 

You can zoom in/out the data flow by pressing CTRL / ⌘ + scroll.

Hold Shift + mouse click: select or deselect multiple nodes.

Hold Shift + select area by mouse: select multiple nodes.

Click on the blank space workspace data flow: deselect multiple nodes.

Drag and drop selected nodes.

  • Organize button

This button will organize your workspace in a logical way. Before changing you will be asked to double confirm the new order. This change can not be reversed. 

 

  • Center button

This button centres your entire configuration on your data flow.  helps you to reposition your components on your Data Flow space. This feature is helpful when you’re building a configuration with multiple components and you want to be able to see all of your components on your screen.

 

Workspace’s Additional Features

  • Description

Use the Description box to describe your workspace and its components. This feature is optional and can be edited at any time. 

 

  • Variables

Manage your workspace’s variables in this box. You can learn more about variables in this article.

 

  • Schedules

You can set up a schedule for your workspace to run at your preferred times. You can learn how to set up the schedule in this article. 

 

  • Workspace Activity

The Workspace Activity box displays when the whole workspace has been run, along with details of who ran the workspace, the date and time of when it was run and the activity’s status and duration. 

Clicking on a View All will bring you to a summary of all activities for this workspace (status, duration, time and date of modification, data in, data out, user).

Clicking on a particular workspace activity will bring you to a more detailed page about the activity detail.

  • Configuration Activity

The Configuration Activity box displays specific components and their respective activity statuses. 

Clicking on a View All will bring you to a Workspace Configuration Activity (name, status, duration, time and date of modification, data in, data out, user).

Clicking on a particular activity will bring you to the component’s page. You can check the activity details of this component in the Activity box.
