Segment export: CSV exports

ItSegmented audiences can be exported to the CSV file. This option is possibleavailable to export to CSV data ofin the segmentedExports audiences.section.

 

Mandatory & exported attributes

Settings for the CSV export are in the Data tab/ Sources & Destinations tab:

Exported Attributes”Attributes are(required)	Attributes that arewill definedbe exported to your destinations. It is a required field as without defining exported attributes/ exported data your export to CSV, values will be presentempty. if known  for If not exported customers. attributes ”will be set, and there will be no data exported.
Mandatory Attributes”Attributes	attributes Attributes that must be present into orderexport to exportthe todestination. CSV. This Customersis an optional field that mandatory attributes are not known for, willcan be excludeddefined fromif export.it Usuallyis needed for CSVa exportparticular export.    “Mandatory Attributes” aredo not set. need to be set for the CSV export.

 

Example:  

 

If “Exported Attribute” will be “Name”, “Mandatory Attribute” will be “Email”.  



Exported to CSV will be the “Name” attribute if known, but customers that have nonot known “Email” will not be exported. 

 

Logographs

If your data contains logographs like &#*, your file has likely been inaccurately encoded.   CSV exporting works with utf8 encoding. Learn more: To understand how to set character encoding, please refer to this article, or any other available articles online.

PII data protection

PII data will be always protected (not visible) for CSV exports if PII protection is set by the administrator (Administrations tab/ Settings tab), even if your user role enables viewing PII data. It is an additional protection of PII data since access to already exported CSV is hard to control.    Data protection If there is a need to export PII data to CSV, one should disable PII protection in the Administration tab/ Settings tab for a moment of export.  Users whose user roles do not enable the viewing of PIIProtected data will not be ablevisible tofor viewCSV orexports exportfor PIIattributes datahidden whilefrom PIIthe protectionuser role. This is off.set per user role by the administrator in the Roles & Permissions tab.
