How does Meiro Events generate and track user session IDs
Meiro Events uses a unique session ID called meiroEventsSessionId
to track user activity on a website or app. When a user visits a website or app for the first time, Meiro Events generates a session ID for that user. Subsequent events from the same user within the next 30 minutes will have the same session ID. All session IDs are stored under the unix timestamp meiroEventsSessionIdUsedTs
, which indicates when the session ID was last updated or refreshed.
If a session ID does not exist for a user, a new ID is created and stored in cookies. Meiro may assign multiple sessions to a single customer profile through an identity stitching algorithm.
The session expiration behavior remains the same. If a user is inactive for more than 30 minutes, a new session ID will be generated during their next visit.
